WHAT IS THE SYRINGE EXCHANGE PROGRAM?
Syringe Services Programs (SSPs) provide comprehensive harm reduction services including providing free sterile needles, syringes, and other injection equipment; safe disposal containers; HIV and viral hepatitis testing and linkage to treatment; overdose prevention and education; referrals to substance use disorder treatment, medical providers, and social services; and HIV, STDs, and viral hepatitis prevention education.
